In this research project, implemented in C#, I conducted an in-depth investigation into the key generation algorithms used in Balsamiq Mockups (up to version 3). The goal was to understand the underlying cryptographic and licensing techniques by thoroughly analyzing the system’s operational logic—strictly for educational purposes. The project was carried out in full compliance with legal and ethical guidelines, with no distribution of source code or binaries. This work provided valuable insights into software protection and the challenges of modern cryptography, furthering my understanding of secure software development.
